A 39 year-old man was shot and killed, and his body was found with multiple gunshots wounds in the late hours on Sunday, 12 June next to his residential area in Manzane formally known as Badplaas.
The provincial police spokesperson Brig Selvy bMohlala, said at around 23:50 police were informed of a shooting incident at Dlamini A in Manzan,and upon arrival at the scene, they found a lifeless body of a man with several gunshot wounds.
“The police also noticed a bakkie nearby which was riddled and it was later discovered to be that of the said man. The man was unfortunately certified dead by the paramedics at the scene. A case of murder was then opened by the members with an immediate launch of a manhunt for his killers. The man has since been identified by his family as Freddie Daniel Zwane, 39 years of age,” said Mohlala.
He also said the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident is still under investigation and police at Badplaas urge anyone with information that may assist in their investigation and subsequent arrest of the suspects to call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via My SAPS APP. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
The provincial police commissioner of, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela has further ordered for the arrest of the murderers, “We want to send a stern warning to those who have been involved in this brutal killing that, we will hunt them down till we find them. The men and women in Blue will never rest until the suspects are brought to book” warned the General.
