Shepherd Lukhele.
An aspiring international junior athlete from Nhlazatshe 4 is reaching out to the public for financial assistance to pursue his dreams after securing a contract with a reputable Gauteng-based club.
Shepherd Lukhele (18), a talented runner who proudly represents the CALM area in junior international events, has been offered a contract with Cornerstone Athletics Club in Midrand.
This marks a significant step forward in his promising career. However, the young athlete faces a crucial hurdle as he does not have the finances to travel to Midrand to finalise the agreement.

“I just signed with a team from Midrand,” Lukhele said. “I need assistance from anyone around to help with transport money as I need to go and sign my contract with the team Cornerstone Athletics Club on November 29.”
He emphasised the importance of this opportunity, not just for himself, but for his entire community. Lukhele sees this as a chance to put the CALM on the map in the provincial athletic arena. “Your assistance will mean a lot to me as I will represent the municipality and shine in Gauteng Province,” he appealed.
The community is called upon to support Lukhele, helping him overcome this financial barrier so he can officially join Cornerstone Athletics Club and begin his professional training in Gauteng.
Local businesses, community leaders and individuals are encouraged to step forward and provide the transport funds needed for his journey.
