Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality Executive Mayor, Mbuso Magubane, recently visited the Elukwatini Unit to engage directly with municipal employees on service delivery and workplace conditions. The visit is part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to improve internal communication and ensure staff remain aligned with service delivery goals.
During the session, Mayor Magubane acknowledged positive developments across various departments and expressed appreciation for employees’ dedication. “You are all ambassadors of this municipality. We need to accelerate service delivery and work closely with the community so that people receive what they need and understand our plans,” he said.
The engagement also gave staff an opportunity to raise concerns about daily challenges and the conditions under which they operate, highlighting areas where further support and improvements are needed. The municipality reaffirmed its commitment to the wellbeing of its workforce, noting that a motivated and supported team is essential for effective service delivery.
Municipal Manager Ephraim Thabethe added to the discussion with a presentation on progress in key infrastructure and service projects, including road upgrades, water and sanitation initiatives, waste management, and other services aimed at improving residents’ quality of life.
By creating a platform for open dialogue and acknowledging both achievements and challenges, the visit signalled Mayor Magubane’s effort to strengthen collaboration between leadership, staff, and the community while working toward more efficient and sustainable service delivery.
