CALM ward committees take the oath

Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality (CALM) Ward Committees 2022-2026 term of office, have now been officially affirmed as per the prescribed legislation, this follows the 2021 Local Goverment Elections.

Over 150 Ward committees have been trained and taken through an intensive workshop on their role and duties in communities and tasks towards the enhancement of participatory democracy in variours wards where they come from.
The Gert Sibande District Municipality Speaker of Council, Cllr Busisiwe Sekhonde, has called on all to understand the road that lies ahead pertaining to matters of local government and what it takes to build sustainable communities.
Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality, Speaker of Council Cllr Sibongile Ginindza said the ward committees should not politicize service delivery; they should give each and everyone the same treatment regardless of their political status.
Moreover, the Executive Mayor Cllr Daniel Nkosi said, it is through all of you where our residents will understand and actively partake on decisions we take as council and processes we embark on towards the uplifment of their Iives.You remain our eyes and ears on the ground and therefore you need to be trusted and work towards that commitment.
As the municipality we congratulate the ward committees on their new journey, towards growth, development and total transformation of the residents of Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality.
