Elukwatini Police are investigating after human remains were found at KaMalahleka in Tjakastad. According to Vusi Nkosi, they received information on January 21 from a herdsman who came across human remains.
“Upon arrival, the police discovered what looked like a human skull and a human torso detached from the skull. Only the right arm with no hand was found, but not the left arm and both legs. Only bones with no flesh were at scene and it was not possible to identify it as either male or female or the age,” he said.
Nkosi also said the police are urging the community to assist with any information that could lead to the identification of these human remains and possibly shed some information on what might have transpired.
“Residents in the area who might have a missing family member are encouraged to report to the police station. There is no set time as to how long the person would have been missing; as soon as you realize that a relative is missing or suspect something might have happened to them, report to the police,” he said.
Any person with information that can assist in this investigation can contact Nkosi on 071 374 7759 or the detective’s standby number 082 798 0396.
