The Hollywood Foundation has once again hosted a successful Bambelela Business Awards event at The Ridge Hotel in Emalahleni on April 30, celebrating resilience, innovation and achievements of Mpumalanga’s entrepreneurial communities by financially empowering them..

The two-day event, which commenced on April 29 at the Emalahleni Municipality Civic Centre, saw 108 businesses take part in the Exhibition and Pitch for Funding Programme. This initiative underscored the Hollywood Foundation’s unwavering commitment to fostering economic growth and empowerment at grassroots level.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Top 20 winners, who each received a portion of the allocated funds to support their business operations. The top three winners were Tembo Engineering, represented by Mphephu Nengovhela, which received the first prize of R130,000 and Mphazima Funeral Services, represented by Nomasonto Zwane, the second prize winner of R100,000 with the third prize awarded to, Sitjhetjheni, represented by Ntombifuthi Mngomezulu, receiving R70 000 Additionally, seventeen runner-up businesses were awarded R40, 000 each, recognising their dedication and contribution to the local economy.

Babongile Mkhize, Group Transformation Manager at Hollywood Foundation, said she was thrilled to once again witness the resounding success of the Bambelela Business Awards. “The enthusiasm and talent displayed by our local entrepreneurs is truly inspiring and we are proud to support their endeavours.” The Hollywood Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering sustainable development in the region.
