The Cannabis producers have welcomed the changes and new developments taking place in the sector, and they pleaded with government not to over-regulate the industry, but to provide more support instead.
This came out during the 4th annual Insangu (cannabis) Maganu (marula) Symposium, Expo and Culinary Festival recently held in Schagen, outside Mbombela.
This symposium aimed to create awareness, build capacity focusing on Cannabis policy issues, opportunities, challenges, markets, and synergies, to position the producers of Cannabis and Marula Products towards economic empowerment and opportunities brought about by these two products. It also aimed to raise awareness of the environmental, cultural, medicinal, and economic value locked in these plants.
A brainchild of the Lisango-Guma Cultural Village in Schagen, the event is supported by the Department of Agriculture Rural Development Land and Environmental Affairs, Small Enterprise Development Agency and other stakeholders.
The Cannabis enthusiasts including exhibitors came out in numbers, showcasing their ideas and products processed from cannabis and morula. Cannabis products have many health benefits which include immune system booster, relieves stress and skin oilments etc.
