Premier Mandla Ndlovu to deliver his first state of the province address

The Mpumalanga Premier, Mandla Ndlovu is set to deliver his first State of the Province Address (SOPA) on Friday February 28 since his election into the position, over the past seven months.

He is expected to outline measures to address socio-economic challenges faced by the growing population of the province, currently at 5.3 million, such as poverty and unemployment.

Premier Ndlovu’s address will further reflect on the achievements of the government, to confirm the growing number of people with access to social intervention programmes which include housing, scholar bus transport, and school nutrition programme.

Shortly after being sworn-in as the Premier of Mpumalanga Province, Ndlovu outlined the 7th administration’s key priorities of driving inclusive growth and job creation, reduce poverty and tackle the high cost of living and building a capable, ethical and developmental state.

He expressed commitment to work tirelessly, to better the lives of the people through the delivery of sustainable quality services such as portable water, improved sanitation facilities and road infrastructure, as well as safe environment and good health services, among others.

Premier Ndlovu also vowed to strengthen the capacity of the infrastructure departments to accelerate the implementation of projects, such the Mpumalanga International Fruits Market and road networks. The Premier’s address will be broadcast live on radio as well as on social media. It is scheduled as follows.
