Three suspects arrested for murder in Mhluzi

The provincial commissioner of Police Lieutenant General Daphney Manamela has appreciated the swift investigation and arrest of three suspects, Wednesday 08 June 2022 at Mhluzi.
Manamel said the Police on Saturday 04 June evening a 27 year old man was attacked by a group of residents after being accused of breaking into a church in Avalon, Mhluzi.
“The victim was allegedly assaulted with an assortment of objects until he succumbed. He was then dragged to another area within Avalon and left there. The said male victim was discovered by the community on the following day, unconscious, and they immediately alerted the Police and he was declared dead by the paramedics,” she said.
She also said, a murder case was opened at Mhluzi Police Station and immediately detectives conducted their investigation which led to the arrest of three suspects; a female aged 35 and two males both aged 48.
“The trio were arrested with the help of community members who hate crime. They will be appearing in the Middelburg Magistrate’s Court soon. More arrests are imminent.I would like to appreciate the determination and commitment displayed by the Detectives at Mhluzi during investigation of this case,” said Manamela.
She however condemned mob justice by the community as they are expected to allow justice to take its cause.
