Women who attended the Moral Regeneration
The Gert Sibande District Municipality, in partnership with the Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality, hosted a significant Moral Regeneration event for women in Tjakastad.
This initiative, held during Women’s Month, was designed to empower women and promote the creation of a morally driven society founded on respect, unity, and Ubuntu.
The program featured insightful presentations from various stakeholders, including the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Department of Social Development.
Cultural leaders and activists also participated, speaking on critical issues such as Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF).
These speakers stressed the crucial role of women in instilling moral values within families and communities. They encouraged all of society to work together to confront social ills.
The event also highlighted the importance of cultural preservation and positive behavioral change as fundamental for community development.
Women were reminded of their power and responsibility to shape a society where dignity, safety, and ethical values thrive.
The event emphasised that women are not just victims of social ills but are also key agents of change.
The GSDM reaffirmed its commitment to supporting programs that promote moral regeneration and the fight against GBVF across all communities.
This event served as a powerful reminder of the collective effort required to build a safer, more dignified, and morally upright society for all.
