The Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality (CALM) is currently encountering challenges in supplying water in the high areas of Carolina due to the low pressure as a result of the ongoing maintenance of the filtration systems of Carolina Water Treatment Works.
CALM spokesperson Thapelo Phetla, said water specialists are currently on-site performing the maintenance programs as part of the municipal preventative maintenance programs to ensure that there are fewer interruptions of water supply during the festive season as we are experiencing a high volume of rainfall.
“The duration of this program will be seven (7) days, and we are anticipating completion by 16/11/2022 considering that the weather conditions are normal. The progress update on the repairs of the plant shall be shared with the affected residents before the end of next week. Therefore, residents are encouraged to continue using water sparingly,” he said
He added that residents are further encouraged to contact the call centre on 080 001 4890 (toll-free) or
017 004 0210 in which standard rates apply for more information alternately they can contact their respective ward councillors.
