Zethembe Mkhaliphi.
A man accused of murder, Zethembe Mkhaliphi (31), appeared at the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, September 10, following the fatal stabbing of a woman.
According to Mpumalanga Police spokesperson Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, Mkhaliphi is accused of attacking his female companion in what is being reported as a domestic violence incident.
The stabbing occurred on Saturday, September 6, in the Nkanini Section of Carolina.
Police and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene and found a family member of the victim.
The woman’s lifeless body was discovered in a pool of blood and paramedics declared her dead at the scene.
Mkhaliphi was arrested and charged with murder.
He remains in custody and his case has been postponed until September 17 for a formal bail application.
