The main purpose of the event was to empower young people from Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality with valuable information and inspire them to embark on entrepreneurial ventures.

In response to the pressing issue of high unemployment rates, the Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality recently organised a youth development workshop in Nhlazatshe 4. The event aimed to empower young individuals with valuable information and inspire them to embark on entrepreneurial ventures.

Key speakers at the workshop included representatives from the office of the premier, Sibusiso Dlamini. Dlamini shed light on various grants offered by the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) to support young entrepreneurs.

He outlined the application process for these grants and highlighted the training opportunities available for aspiring business owners.

Sharing his inspiring journey,Sizo Tshabalala, a successful farmer from the Elukwatini area within the municipality, spoke about his humble beginnings and the challenges he faced. Despite numerous setbacks, Tshabalala persisted and now owns a poultry farm, manages a cow farm, and sells tomatoes. He emphasised the importance of resilience and dedication in the entrepreneurial journey, urging young people to seize the opportunities provided by the municipality.

Mbuso Nkosi, the Chief of Staff from the office of the CALM Mayor, also shared his story of overcoming poverty through sheer determination and hard work, encouraging young people to take charge of their futures, to overcome poverty, motivating them to pursue entrepreneurial goals, and ultimately, to build a better future for themselves while enhancing the local economy.
