The Executive Mayor of the Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality, Cllr Mbuso Magubane, announced the members of his mayoral committee today at a formal event held in Carolina July 24.
The newly appointed committee will play a crucial role in assisting the Executive Mayor in the exercise of his powers, serving as an extension of the Executive Mayor’s office.
In his address, Cllr Magubane outlined several urgent programmes that the committee will focus on.
These include the extension of water reticulation, the repair of gravel roads and potholes, street paving, maintenance of boreholes and cemeteries, and the removal of refuse from illegal dumping sites.
The members of the newly appointed Mayoral Committee are:
- Cllr Gugu Zulu-Khumalo: MMC for Corporate Services
- Cllr Snana Dlamini: MMC for Community Services and Public Safety
- Cllr Ryder Motaung: MMC for Financial Services
- Cllr Simphiwe Nkosi: MMC for Planning and Economic Development
- Cllr Sibusiso Dube: MMC for Technical Services & Project Management Unit
- Cllr Jabu Mathebula: MMC for Special Programmes in the Office of the Executive Mayor
“Your acceptance of this role is a testament to your commitment to public service and your dedication to the betterment of our municipality,” said Magubane.
He acknowledged that while the road ahead would be challenging, it would also present numerous opportunities to make a profound impact on the lives of the municipality’s citizens.
The newly appointed committee members bring a wealth of experience and dedication to their roles, and the municipality looks forward to the positive changes and improvements their collective efforts will bring.
