In a vibrant display of support for employee well-being and community involvement, the Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality (CALM) orchestrated a dynamic wellness event at Silver Park in Nhlazathse on December 07.
According to CALM spokesperson Thapelo Phetla, the event was a testament to the municipality’s unwavering commitment to fostering unity among its dedicated workforce while emphasizing the pivotal role of relaxation and comprehensive well-being in their lives.
“The municipality aim to instill a sense of unity among employees, the event served as a breather from the daily precisions of work. Furthermore, it was a platform for imparting invaluable teachings on achieving holistic wellness. The municipality’s ethos firmly believes that a happy employee is a productive asset, and this event stood as a testament to that belief,” said Phetla.
He added that the municipality showcased its commitment to employee growth and recognition by commemorating the progress made in promotions. This year alone, a total of 46 employees earned well-deserved promotions, underscoring the municipality’s unwavering trust and confidence in its workforce.
“Moreover, the municipality took a momentous step to honor long-term employees for their dedicated service by presenting them with certificates, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the municipality’s success.Not solely focused on internal affairs, the Local Economic Development (LED) unit within the municipality strategically selected CALM vicinity as the event’s venue,” he said.
Phetla further said this decision was rooted in the vision to bolster local businesses, revitalize the regional economy, and spotlight indigenous enterprises on a global scale.
Acting Executive Mayor, MMC Gugu Zulu, extended heartfelt Acting Executive Mayor, MMC Gugu Zulu to all municipality workers, encapsulating the spirit of gratitude and celebration that resonated throughout the event. MMC Zulu’s words served as a touching reminder of appreciation for the dedication and hard work exhibited by the municipality’s workforce.
