The Carolina SAPS visited Zenzeleni Primary School to raise awareness about child protection as part of commemorating the annual National Child Protection Week held from May 29 to June 5.
National Child Protection Week is commemorated annually in the country to raise awareness of children’s rights.
Carolina SAPS was joined by the Department of Correctional Services, Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, the Department of Basic Education, and GRIP.

The team sensitized the learners about bullying, sexual offenses, substance abuse, and school discipline.
The learners were warned against speaking to strangers and accepting money and lifts from strangers.
Their right to be protected from abuse, treated with dignity, and not to be trafficked
Learners were encouraged to report incidents of abuse and crime to trusted teachers or adults.
