Four European tourists were attacked in two separate attempted hijacking incidents near eManzana known as Badplaas and the Oshoek Border Post earlier on Tuesday, September 10.
According to a provincial police spokesperson, Captain Magonseni Nkosi, the first victim’s man and women from Netherlands were attacked in eManzana t during the attempted hijacking at about 11:20, where a man was shot in the arm.
He was treated at a local clinic before he was rushed to Nelspruit Medi Clinic for further medical care
The second incident took place after 12:00 near the Oshoek Border Post during which a German couple’s car was damaged as hijackers tried to force it off the road.
The couple managed to evade their attackers and drove to a nearby filling station, where they waited for the police.
Nkosi, also said in both incidents the suspects drove blue car, however the tourists were not able to immediately confirm the number of suspects or the make and model of the vehicle(s) that were used.
