It was bow ties and glamour galore at this year’s Metro FM music awards at Mbombela Stadium under the theme “Crowing Greatness” on Saturday May 03 to celebration of South Africa’s top music stars.
Celebrating with the winners were some of South Africa’s entertainment A-listers.
The hosts, Siyabonga Ngwekazi and Luthando ‘Lootlove’ Shosha, threw shade in various designer gowns.
Broadcasted on SABC1 and livestreamed on SABC+, even those at home could join in the show-stopping moments.
Dr Rebecca Malope, renowned gospel queen and TKZee, kwaito legend, were honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their true South African music contributions over the years.
Bassie, as always, shone like the star she is, raking in various awards.
This included best amapiano song, best collaboration and top music video. Makhadzi took home the gong for artist of the year. The Woodblock DJ spinners, Mvelost, Somololo and Sest Off, bagged the best viral challenge award for “Scuta Baba.”
