A passionate group of Mpumalanga women have launched the Pristine Ladies Golf Club (PLGC) to inspire, motivate, interact and connect with each other while embracing wellness on the golf course.

“We are passionate about helping to grow the game of golf, help change the face of the sport across Mpumalanga and play with other women across the country,” said Mahlatse Malibe, President of PLGC.

At the launch held at Kruger Park Lodge on November 17 , Malibe said while fewer women play golf she and her colleagues are working hard to collectively drive female growth in the sport.


“The PLGC is a vibrant community where women golfers of all skill levels can come together, connect, and uplift one another. We are dedicated to encouraging more women to play golf and increase participation in the sport.

Malibe, marketing communications practitioner, certified executive coach, passionate golfer and mentor for young women in business, golf tourism has the potential to bring a range of economic, social, and environmental benefits to Mpumalanga, a region already known for its natural beauty and attractions.
Malibe said according to statistics, there were 5,044 male golfers in Mpumalanga and 748 female golfers in the province in 2023 playing in 37 golf courses in the province.


“The growth of ladies’ golf in Mpumalanga has been increasing over the years, driven by various factors such as golf development programmes, increased participation in tournaments, supportive infrastructure, role models and ambassadors, women’s golf associations, social and lifestyle appeal, tourism and international exposure and supportive community.

“Overall, the sport of golf for women in Mpumalanga is progressing steadily, with increased opportunities and support helping to pave the way for more female golfers in the region.

“So, whether Mpumalanga women are looking to connect with other women to play golf, stay updated with the latest golf news, perfect their game, learn tips and tricks and have a laugh while gracing the fairways, the PLGC, has got them covered

“Through carefully curated wellness retreats and events, our aim is to build lasting connections, share insights and explore joint ventures in a supportive female-centric environment.
Malibe said PLGC golfers will create periodic breaks from work for female executives, support one another’s holistic wellness required for duty, through golf and travel by taking the game to all the provinces and compete in tournaments sanctioned by.

“We offer a blend health-centred travel experiences, sports wellness activities and exclusive networking opportunities in stunning golf courses across our country and worldwide,” said Malibe.
Some of the weekend games will include holistic wellness, positive psychology, life mapping and mindfulness practices by accredited coaches and instructors.

“Our aim is to host the International Sunshine Ladies Tour in 2026 where professional golfers will compete among themselves and amateur golfers will also have the chance to play alongside them,” said Malibe.
The PLGC membership starts at 25 years of age and offers monthly lessons at a driving range with a pro golfer,monthly home games, national away games and annual international games.
