Laerskool Badplaas emerged as the champions of the Top Four Soccer Tournament after an impressive showing in both the Under-11 and Under-13 divisions on Saturday, August 28.
The tournament brought together four schools to compete in the Under-11 and Under-13 categories, with Laerskool Badplaas facing Sohlazane Primary School, while Izithandani took on Sunduza in the opening fixtures.
In the Under-11 division, Laerskool Badplaas delivered a strong performance against Sohlazane Primary School, securing a convincing 4-2 victory to book their place in the final.
The final saw Laerskool Badplaas go up against Izithandani in what proved to be another entertaining encounter. Badplaas continued their impressive run, defeating Izithandani 3-1 to be crowned the Under-11 champions.

The school also enjoyed success in the Under-13 division. Laerskool Badplaas progressed after winning their semi-final on penalties before facing Izithandani in the final.
In the Under-13 final, Laerskool Badplaas once again demonstrated their quality, recording a 2-1 victory over Izithandani to claim the championship.
The tournament also saw individual players recognised for their outstanding performances.
Thandolwethu Ndlovu of Laerskool Badplaas was voted the Under-13 Player of the Tournament. Famously known as “Messi”, Ndlovu impressed throughout the competition with his exceptional skill, vision and footwork. His talent, hard work and leadership helped him stand out as one of the tournament’s top performers.
In the Under-11 division, Thato Thobela was named the Player of the Tournament. The young star impressed with his speed, ball control and determination. His passion, teamwork and commitment on the field earned him recognition as one of the standout players of the U11 competition.
The victories across both age groups highlighted Laerskool Badplaas’s strong football programme and the talent emerging from its young players.
With two championship victories and two players receiving individual honours, Laerskool Badplaas had plenty to celebrate after a successful Top Four Soccer Tournament.
