The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) has welcomed various local, national and international media houses to the “Place of the Rising Sun” as part of an exciting tourism media excursion across the province.

The excursion forms part of the build-up to the highly anticipated Tourism Month Media Launch, scheduled to take place at the Loskop Dam Nature Reserve on Monday, August 31 .

The initiative provides members of the media with an opportunity to explore and experience some of Mpumalanga’s unique tourism attractions and offerings, while showcasing the province as a premier tourism destination.

As part of the excursion, the media delegation recently visited the Boat and Caravan Club in eMalahleni (Witbank), where they experienced some of the attractions and tourism opportunities available in the Nkangala Region.

MTPA said the media excursion is aimed at giving local, national and international media an opportunity to experience, explore and share Mpumalanga’s tourism offerings with audiences around the country and internationally.

The province is being showcased through a variety of experiences, including its scenic landscapes, outdoor activities, hospitality and lesser-known attractions.

The agency said the excursion forms part of efforts to position Mpumalanga as a destination of choice by allowing media representatives to experience the province first-hand and share these experiences with potential visitors.

“From breathtaking landscapes and outdoor adventures to unforgettable hospitality and hidden gems, Mpumalanga is a destination waiting to be discovered,” MTPA said.

The media excursion also highlights the diversity of tourism experiences available across the province, with the Nkangala Region forming part of the broader itinerary.

The upcoming Tourism Month Media Launch at Loskop Dam Nature Reserve will further set the tone for the province’s Tourism Month activities, bringing attention to Mpumalanga’s tourism potential and the role of the sector in attracting visitors.

Through the initiative, MTPA aims to strengthen the visibility of Mpumalanga as a tourism destination and encourage visitors to discover the province’s attractions and experiences.

The participation of local, national and international media houses is expected to provide wider exposure for tourism establishments, attractions and destinations across Mpumalanga, helping to share the province’s story with audiences beyond its borders.
