TS Galaxy has been crowned the 2026 Mpumalanga Premier’s Cup champions after defeating Kruger United FC 3-1 in the tournament final at Kanyamazane Stadium in Mbombela on Sunday, July 19.
Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu presented the championship trophy to TS Galaxy following the final whistle. He was joined by MEC for Culture, Sport and Recreation Leah Mabuza, MEC for Education Lindi Masina, executive mayors, SAFA leadership and other dignitaries.
The Premier’s Cup brought together thousands of football and netball fans from across the province, celebrating sporting excellence while showcasing some of Mpumalanga’s finest sporting talent.
The tournament was hosted at Kabokweni Stadium, Lowveld High School and culminated with the finals at Kanyamazane Stadium. It featured both men’s and women’s football, as well as netball competitions.
Teams competed for impressive prizes, including a brand-new combi, cash prizes, medals and trophies. The runners-up received R200,000, while the third-placed teams each earned R50,000.
The football finals featured four of the province’s top clubs TS Galaxy, Kruger United FC, Casric Stars and The Bees who battled for provincial honours.
After a competitive and entertaining final, TS Galaxy produced a dominant performance to defeat Kruger United 3-1 and lift the coveted Premier’s Cup trophy.
Congratulating the champions and all participants, Premier Ndlovu praised the players, coaches, officials and supporters for contributing to the tournament’s success.
He said the Premier’s Cup continues to play an important role in promoting sport, developing local talent and uniting communities across Mpumalanga through healthy competition and community participation.
