Mandla Ndlovu, Mpumalanga premier, has launched the innovative Kubunya Lithuli Programme, aimed at enhancing the quality and condition of roads across the province to address improved road safety and infrastructure maintenance.

With its strategic focus on improving road conditions and minimizing accidents, the Kubunya Lithuli Programme consists of four well-equipped teams in each district.

These teams are tasked with ensuring roads are properly maintained and upgraded, thereby creating a safer environment for all road users.

Ndlovu emphasized the importance of this programme in reducing road carnages and promoting road safety. With 60% of the country’s roads tarred or paved, the remaining 40% being gravel roads, the Kubunya Lithuli Programme will address maintenance of both types, prioritizing maintenance of road infrastructure.

The implementation of this Programme signifies a major step towards proactive road management and safety enhancement. Mandla Ndlovu’s undertaking of planning and execution of it which is geared to improve road infrastructure is managed and maintained in the province.

Communities look forward to the positive impact of this Programme as many need to daily commute on unsafe roads. This will go a long way towards progress and transformation of transportation infrastructure.
