South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is taking its services to Carolina Township to avoid flooding of potential beneficiaries in the Local Office. The outreach will be held at Silobela Community hall on (Wednesday) November 15 from 08:00
The Agency is implementing this Community Outreach to ensure that people have full access to Social Assistance.
Carolina is located at Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality. The majority of people in this area are depending on Social grants. As a result, the Local Office is experiencing a high influx of people from the area. The SASSA office servicing Carolina is about 158 Kilometres return trip.
At the community outreach, people will be able to apply for all social grants, attend special COVID-19 inquiries (R350) grants, and assist beneficiaries with the payment method.
Stakeholders such as the Department of Health, Social Development, Home Affairs, Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality, IEC, and banking institutions will be rendering their services.
