The Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality (CALM) would provide assistance to those whose homes bore the brunt of strong winds. Several homes in Silobela were left without roofs after strong winds hit the area on January 08.
Apart from roof damage to homes, several houses also saw other structural damages and loss of essential household items were reported as well.
CALM’s disaster team has been dispatched to assess the extent of the damages and provide immediate assistance to affected families.

Relief measures include temporary shelter, emergency supplies and ongoing support to ensure residents’ safety and well-being. Co-ordination between councillors, NGO’s and other stakeholders are expediting aid distribution and restoration efforts.
