Phumla Music, a respected figure in the music industry, has recently voiced her concerns over the alleged gatekeeping practices of Ubisi “Pensele,” a well-known Tsonga Disco Legend and the current chairperson of the Cultural and Creative Industries Federation of South Africa (CCIFSA) in Mpumalanga.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Phumla Music shared her feelings of disappointment and anger towards Pensele, claiming that he has been actively hindering her opportunities by excluding her from events and speaking ill of her behind closed doors.

Phumla expressed her confusion and hurt, stating that she has always held Pensele in high regard and treated him with utmost respect, unaware of the betrayal that was brewing within the industry boardrooms.

She openly questioned his motives, asking, “Ngikwenteni??????? What did I do to you so I can apologize Bhutwam? Where do you get the audacity to write my name off kuma events where you sit as a CCIFSA representative which I believe has to advocate for artists to perform, not gatekeep them to perform?”

Phumla’s post garnered an outpouring of support from fans, many of whom shared their disappointment in Pensele’s alleged actions. One fan, Masta H, referred to Pensele as an “evil man” who is capable of smiling to one’s face while simultaneously betraying them behind their back.

Another supporter, Samkelisiwe, praised Phumla’s bravery for speaking out against her senior, citing the fear and hesitation that many artists feel when facing influential figures in the industry.

At the time of writing, Pensele has been unavailable for comment. As this story continues to develop, it raises essential questions about the treatment of artists within the industry and the need for accountability and transparency among those in positions of power.
