The Carewest Foundation celebrated its 22nd anniversary with an unforgettable gala dinner at the Emalahleni Civic Centre on Friday, December 6, 2024. This elegant event brought together community members, dignitaries, and supporters who dressed to the nines to honor the foundation’s achievements and raise funds to support 200 wheelchairs for those in need.
The evening was enhanced by powerful musical performances from Esethu Siwe, Sbu Noah, and Khaya Mthethwa, who brought joy and inspiration to all in attendance. The performances set a hopeful tone for the evening as the community came together in celebration and support of Carewest’s mission.
The Carewest Foundation has brought smiles and hope to countless children from disadvantaged backgrounds. This event was part of the foundation’s long-term mission to uplift vulnerable communities and create a brighter future for the next generation.
Carewest Foundation has supported 927 children to date and remains committed to its vision:
“To create a safe, productive, and progressive environment for underprivileged kids by providing resources and catering to their academic and personal needs. We aspire to instill a sense of Ubuntu within the community.”
During the evening, Steven West Luvuno shared a powerful statement:
“If not now, when?”
Speakers at the event commended Steven’s tireless efforts and his unwavering commitment to helping those in need.
MC Thabiso Mabogoane shared his heartfelt thoughts:
“This foundation is a symbol of hope and resilience. Through its efforts, it has changed the lives of so many children and families. Tonight, we come together not just to celebrate milestones but to pledge our continued support to this meaningful mission.”
Pastor Dennis Mkhawane, representing Lethuluthula Funeral Home, also took the stage to share his perspective:
“The efforts of Carewest Foundation are not just inspiring but life-changing. It’s a privilege to stand here today and celebrate the work done over the years to uplift communities and ensure that every child has an opportunity to thrive.”
The evening also celebrated numerous awards in recognition of outstanding contributions toward the foundation’s success. Wonderboy Manzini, co-founder and CEO of Masemanzi Mining Holdings, and the Masemanzi family received an Appreciation Award for their 22 years of unwavering support.
Ms. Gloria Dlamini, former Executive Mayor of Emalahleni Local Municipality, was honored with an Appreciation Award for her continuous support. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr. Mesemola Johannes for his immense contribution to Carewest’s vision and efforts.
Masemanzi Mining received a Lifetime Achievement Award for its continued support over the years, while Ashley Ntuli and Lethuluthula Funeral Home, represented by Pastor Dennis Mkhawane, were also celebrated for their meaningful contributions. Saveways Spar, a loyal sponsor for the past decade, was recognized for its steadfast partnership with Carewest Foundation.
The gala dinner was both a celebration of milestones and a reminder of the ongoing efforts to uplift vulnerable families and children. Through their consistent efforts and partnership with the community, Carewest Foundation continues to inspire hope, unity, and the true spirit of Ubuntu.
