During Laerskool Badplaas and Gekombineerde Skool Hendrina’s recent hockey games, much fun was had and the teams practised as if they had never won and played like they have never lost.
Both school’s boys and girls’ teams, under 11 and 13 years of age, played their hearts out in what were their first matches According to Nozipho Malinga, spokesperson, Nozipho Malinga, it was a very good experience for the boys and girls to have participated in the games.
“It was the first match for the under-11 girls and under-13 boys and the game was a very nice match to watch. Our team played very well and our opponents only scored more once,” she said.
It was an especially tough game for the under-11 girls as it was their first game, but they played very well and although they lost, the girls gave their rivals a tough time. The under-13 game was also a tough one, but they had a little bit more experience as it was their second game.
Most importantly, Malinga said, both the kids and their parents had a good time. “We would like to thank everyone who made this trip and the games possible,and as for Gekombineerde Skool Hendrina, thank you for hosting the game and the hospitality we received she said.
