Mpumalanga’s Cultural Xperience was held for the ninth year and the festivities, as always, brought life and colour and a wonderful opportunity to highlight diverse cultures.
Different events started across the province from Thursday and the last would be this Sunday. The popular Emnotweni Arena saw the Comedy Xperience bring laughter after a tough economic year.

The Carnival Xperience in Mbombela’s streets brought the various cultures to life with indigent clothing and songs. The legendary Judith Sephuma shared the stage with Brenden Praise, Zano, Musa, Zamaswazi, during the Soul Sessions on Sunday. The Lowveld Botanical Garden in Mbombela was turned into a colour fest to match the guest’s outfits.
Leah Mabuza, provincial MEC for Culture, Sports and Recreation said the large variety of activities were proof of the talent in Mpumalanga. Workshops, exhibits, many performances and even a sporting event, brought locals and international visitors together.

In her speech, Mabuza said her department was thrilled to have been part of the event with the goal to ensure Mpumalanga, the Place of the Rising Sun, becomes the premier tourist destination in the country – a provincial hub of entrepreneurship and creativity.
