The prestigious Ndalo Lodge in Mbombela was chosen by Daisy-Lee Events as venue to host a once-in-a-lifetime Valentine’s event. It provided new and old lovers, the married and unmarried, an opportunity to celebrate their love in style. Couples from across Mpumalanga attended the gala dinner on 15 February.
A clinical psychologist, Cebelihle Shongwe, discussed mental wellness among couples and encouraged them to support each other mentally and physically. She urged attendees to prioritize honest communication in their relationships as “that’s what keeps the fire of love burning.” She also urged couples to tell to each other how they feel, whether happy or not and not to hold grudges.
Renowned love expert, Rick Netshiozwi, highlighted the importance of marriage and shared tips on how to avoid divorce. He told the couples how to create a healthy marriage and keep love burning. He also mentioned that marriage is a journey of two people who need to support each other, admit when they are wrong and apologize. Netshiozwi provided statistics of the high incidence of divorce in the country which break up families and leave children to grow up without both of their parents.
The beautifully attired guests were kept entertained with live comedy performances and music. Ndalo Lodge even ensured a red carpet entrance and a photographer was on hand to capture the night and create lasting memories. It was an evening filled with love and laughter. Chefs at Ndalo Lodge, which is part of the Ndalo Hotels Group, prepared a mouth-watering buffet.
