A 42-year-old security officer, Zakhele John Mbuli/Nkosi, appeared at the Chief Albert Luthuli Magistrate’’s Court on Monday, March 09 on a charge of murder.
According to a spokesperson for the Elukwatini SAPS, Wiseman Nkosi, they received information from police in Ermelo, that a man who handed himself over to them, said he killed his girlfriend with a pickaxe handle at Nhlazatshe eNkanini.
Upon investigation, the police found the body of a 35-year old female in a pool of blood. “It is understood the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 08, around 03:00; triggered by a phone call that did not sit well with the Zakhele.
He then used the pickaxe handle to beat his girlfriend to death. He fled the scene, but later handed himself to Ermelo SAPS. He was charged accordingly,” Nkosi said.
