The second day of The Perfume Co. Africa’s annual Supervisors Sales and Leadership Summit got off to a powerful start on Friday, September 12, with delegates being encouraged to believe in themselves, build their personal brands and create their own financial opportunities.

The three-day summit, being held at Badplaas, A Forever Resort, from September 11 to 13, brings together supervisors and sales representatives from South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe under the theme of growth, leadership and entrepreneurship.

CEO Bathabile Moreki welcomed delegates and encouraged them, particularly women, to believe in their abilities and understand that they can create their own opportunities.

Moreki urged delegates to believe in the products they sell and to work towards becoming their own bosses.

“Anyone can be the boss they want to be, be their own boss and create their own jobs,” she told delegates.

Moreki said the summit was designed to equip supervisors and sales representatives with skills that could help them improve their businesses and sales performance.

“We have called the sales and supervisors at The Perfume Co. Africa to be equipped with the necessary skills and to make sure that when they leave, they will make a difference in their sales,” she said.

She added that successful managers were also given an opportunity to share their experiences and inspire others, while experts were brought in to provide advice on how delegates could succeed in business.

Moreki also shared her own journey of building the business from its early stages to where it is today, saying she hoped her story would inspire delegates.

From debt to financial independence

One of the speakers, Nthabiseng Nyeufane, shared her personal journey of joining the company with limited financial resources and eventually earning more than R100,000 a month through hard work.

Nyeufane said she previously had significant debt and depended heavily on her salary, but joining The Perfume Co. Africa changed her financial circumstances.

“The company gave me an opportunity that I was not going to afford with my salary and the one from my spouse. But after I joined the company, everything changed,” she said.

She encouraged delegates to work towards generating their own income instead of relying on borrowing money.

Nyeufane said success required commitment, training and confidence in the products being sold.

Building a strong personal brand

Lerato Rammushi spoke to delegates about the importance of personal branding and maintaining a positive image.

She encouraged supervisors and sales representatives to build brands that are sustainable and recognisable, while using social media and other platforms to remain visible to customers.

“Work on your brand and ensure that you promote on any platform that is at your disposal. Do not go for days without reminding people you are still around,” Rammushi said.

She also urged delegates to remain positive and speak positively about their businesses or brand whenever they have an opportunity to do so.

While Rorisang Ramashiya, highlighted the importance of network marketing, encouraging delegates to view entrepreneurship and sales as an additional opportunity to increase their income and improve their quality of life.

The summit continues until Sunday, September 13, with delegates expected to gain further insights into leadership, sales, personal development and entrepreneurship.
