The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) and Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) will jointly launch a Winter Campaign as part of efforts to increase tourism numbers and promote the two provinces under the themes “Wild Warm Winter” and “Two Provinces, One Destination.”

The collaborative initiative follows engagements held during Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026, where the two provinces committed to strengthening interprovincial partnerships and promoting regional tourism integration through their respective tourism agencies.

According to MTPA spokesperson Simphiwe Shungube, the collaboration aims to strengthen tourism marketing initiatives, promote regional tourism integration, and position Mpumalanga and Limpopo as preferred tourism destinations during the winter season.

Shungube said the campaign will showcase the scenic beauty, cultural heritage, adventure experiences and hospitality offerings available across both provinces.

“The collaboration seeks to attract more visitors by highlighting the unique and authentic tourism experiences found in Mpumalanga and Limpopo,” said Shungube.

The Winter Campaign launch is scheduled to take place on May 29 at the Radisson Safari Hotel in Hoedspruit.

During the launch, the two provinces will showcase a range of tourism attractions and experiences that make Mpumalanga and Limpopo ideal winter travel destinations.

“Visitors can expect memorable experiences ranging from wildlife and nature adventures to cultural tourism and hospitality offerings designed to appeal to both local and international travellers,” he said

Shungube also said the partnership is also expected to strengthen economic opportunities linked to tourism by encouraging travellers to explore destinations across both provinces as part of a combined regional experience.
