South African Social Security Agency [SASSA] in Mpumalanga would like to assure social grants beneficiaries that the dates of October payment cycle is expected to be as smooth as it can, post the system technical glitches experienced last month.
The October 2023 payment cycle is as follows: October 03 social grants payment for older persons, October 04 payment is for people living with disabilities, and as from October 05 it will be the payment of children grants categories.

The SASSA provincial spokesperson Senzeni Ngubeni, said social grants beneficiaries have a right to choose a method of payment of their choice, freely. The forms to make a choice are available at the nearest SASSA offices.
“SASSA staff will be in most SAPO outlets and other payment platforms to monitor the payment and with an aim to assist beneficiaries with enquiries. The monitoring will be conducted for the first three payment days and they will assist any beneficiary that may be experiencing system payment related challenges or non-payment due to failed bank verification and or pending bank verification. In an eventuality of an unexpected non-payment will be escalated to Postbank if related to a system glitch, and be sorted out as quickly as possible,” he said

Nguben added that the Agency is reminding all beneficiaries to check their contacts details to ensure that they are still correct. To verify or change contact details beneficiary must login to the official website which is https://srd.sassa.gov.za.Beneficiaries
• As we have already reported, SASSA old-age pension grants will increase to R2090 for recipients between 60 and 74 years old and R2110 for recipients between over 75 years old (R10 raise).
• The SASSA Disability Grant will increase to R2090, R10 more.
• SASSA Child Support Grant goes up to R510, a rise of R10.
• SASSA Child Support Grant from SASSA will increase to R1130, by R10.
• There is a R10 increase to SASSA grants for Child Care Dependency. The amount is now R2090.
• The SASSA War Veterans Grant will go up to R2110, by R10.
• The Grant-In-Aid from SASSA will increase to R510, R10 more than before.
• Only the Child Support Grant Top-Up remains UNCHANGED at R250.
