The MEC of Public Works, Roads and Transport Mohita Latchminarain, visited the Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality to discuss the challenges regarding the reconstruction of D481 road between Mooiplaas andEkulindeni which is on (phase 3) and will be (7.2km).
The MEC met with the project stakeholders including the Municipal Leadership, ward councilors and the contractor to resolve challenges that have delayed the start of the much anticipated road project.
She emphasized that the Department will do its best to ensure that the project is completed without any further delay, who was accompanied by a delegation of senior officials from the Department.
Moreover, the municipality led by the Executive Mayor Daniel Nkosi, and other MMs and speaker, were present on the meeting and emphasized that as the municipality they will work together with the Department and the community to complete the road project.
The construction of the road will include kerbing and sidewalks, bridges, and storm water infrastructure, which is expected to be completed in 2023.
