The Chief Albert Luthuli Regional Court in Mpumalanga has sentenced 32-year-old Njabulo Titus Ndinisa to life imprisonment, plus an additional 15 years, for the rape of two women aged between 27 and 28.

According to Elukwatini police spokesperson Sergeant Wiseman Nkosi, the incidents occurred in 2023 and 2024. The court heard that on both occasions, the accused targeted women leaving a local tavern after closing time. He would offer to escort them home, only to later turn violent along the way, threatening them with a knife before raping them.

Nkosi stated that the first victim was attacked in Mooiplaas Trust. After his initial arrest, Ndinisa was granted bail and assured the court he would relocate to Ekulindeni (Kroomdraai). However, it was in this area that he committed the second offence, using the same method.

Both cases were investigated by the Elukwatini Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit. Detective Sergeant Sphiwe Dhlamini was commended for her meticulous investigation, which ultimately led to the conviction and ensured justice for the victims.

Police have reaffirmed their commitment to tackling gender-based violence and femicide, emphasizing ongoing efforts to bring perpetrators to justice and create a safer environment, particularly for vulnerable members of society.
