The Kruger National Park (KNP) is rolling out the red carpet and is fully prepared to welcome a surge of visitors during the upcoming festive season.
To ensure an unforgettable and relaxing visit, the Park has upgraded its key infrastructure, accommodation and most importantly, security measures.
KNP’s management confirmed the KNP is in excellent condition and geared to handle the festive rush.
The roads had also been upgraded for smooth access and travel throughout this vast wilderness area.
Security remains of paramount importance.
Top-tier security measures would guarantee the safety of every visitor, allowing guests to relax and immerse themselves fully in this iconic African bushveld experience.
Accommodation facilities, particularly at one of the Park’s busiest and most popular camps, Skukuza, had undergone much work.
According to the General Manager Commercial Operations, Thabo Tlalanyane, substantial work had been done to ensure guests feel special and comfortable during their stay.
“In order for the KNP to welcome guests and ensure they receive the best treatment, we have upgraded more than 60 units at Skukuza Rest Camp,” he said.
Key improvements at Skukuza Rest Camp include an inside braai area for all new units, offering convenience regardless of weather conditions.
These units now also include an indoor kitchen, an answer to a long-standing challenge faced by guests using the previous outside kitchen setups.
“There used to be only an outside kitchen, luring animals to destroy the amenities in search of food. The indoor facilities would not only improve hygiene, but also prevent undesirable interactions with curious wildlife, ensuring a more peaceful stay for visitors,” Tlalanyane explained.
With its maintained road network, tightened security and substantial upgrades to accommodation units, the KNP is set to deliver a world-class safari experience.
Visitors can look forward to a comfortable and secure stay while enjoying the breath taking wildlife and landscapes making the KNP a bucket-list destination.
In terms of the road’s infrastructure all their roads have been attended to including their dirt road have re-gravelled. They will continue to monitor it since we are in the rainy season.
To add on that about 180 of fleet has been secured for the running of the park raging from protected service, traffic control buses and ambulance to ensure that everything run smooth in the park during and after festive season
“With the preparations we are calling on the visitors to adhere to the rules because we still have people to block the roads when they see animals. Some they still hang on their vehicle windows and drive on the prohibited roads. We are putting measures in place to make sure that those that are caught are brought to book,” he said.
