Shepherd Lukhele
Nhlazatshe sprinter Shepherd Lukhele has once again raised the Mpumalanga flag high after delivering an impressive performance at the ASA National Cross Country Championships.
Lukhele secured first place in Mpumalanga and finished 16th overall out of 133 athletes at national level, marking an important milestone in his athletics career.
The achievement came during his second appearance at the national championships, with Lukhele describing the experience as another important step in his journey.
“Everything went well. I am grateful for the opportunity and believe everything happens in God’s timing,” said Lukhele.
He also expressed his gratitude to his sponsors and supporters who assisted him with travelling costs to the Nationals.
“I thank my sponsors and everyone who supported me,” he said.
Lukhele is already setting his sights on the international stage and hopes to represent South Africa next year.
“Next year, I will run internationally and represent my country,” he said.
His latest performance has strengthened his confidence and provided motivation as he prepares for the next stage of his athletics career.
For the young athlete, the national achievement is not only a personal milestone but also a source of pride for Nhlazatshe and Mpumalanga.
