Entrepreneurs across Mpumalanga are being urged to seize a major opportunity to grow their businesses, as the Hollywood Foundation officially opens applications for the 2026 Bambelela Business Awards.
According to the Public Relations Officer for the Hollywood Foundation Vuyisile Ngobese, now in its fourth year in the province, the awards have become a vital platform for recognising and empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that are making a meaningful difference in their communities. From creating jobs to driving local economic development, these businesses continue to play a crucial role in shaping Mpumalanga’s economy.
Since launching in the province, the programme has supported 69 MSMEs, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to fostering sustainable entrepreneurship and inclusive growth. This year, provincial winners will once again share in R1 million in funding, offering a significant boost to businesses aiming to expand and strengthen their operations.
“Our communities are rich with talent and entrepreneurial drive. The Bambelela Business Awards exist to unlock that potential by giving entrepreneurs the platform, support and investment they need to grow and lead within the economy,” Ngobese said.
The 2026 theme, “Bambelela (Hold On) Your Dreams Are Valid,” highlights the resilience and determination of entrepreneurs who continue to build sustainable ventures despite challenges.
The programme will conclude with a two-day Exhibition and Seminar, where shortlisted participants will showcase their businesses and pitch to a panel of judges. Entries will be assessed based on innovation, growth potential and their impact on local communities.
MSMEs across Mpumalanga are encouraged to apply and take part in a transformative initiative that continues to uplift businesses and communities alike.
Applications opened on 7 April 2026 and will close on May 7 at 23:59. Interested applicants can apply online via the Hollywood Foundation website.
